What Is a Blog Hop?

What is a blog hop?

Anyone ever hear of hosting a Blog Hop? Well I have not until recently while I was exploring some creative ways to have fun blogging. And as an avid fan of knowledge sharing, I wanted to share what it is and how to run one.

Think of the blog hop as a virtual networking event of like-minded writers and content producers like you. It's basically a community-driven event where bloggers come together to share their content on a specific theme or topic.

Participants "hop" from one blog to another, visiting each site in the group and often leaving comments or sharing posts on social media. It's a great way to discover new blogs, increase traffic, and build connections within a blogging community.

Hosting A Blog Hop

  1. Pick a topic or theme. A good way to think of this is like a party. At parties, there's usually a theme.

  1. Write up a few rules and a schedule of events. Set up a blog hop for a certain amount of time.

  2. For each of the days, provide a daily prompt. It will pull other bloggers into the fun of writing posts on that topic.

  3. Encourage bloggers to visit other bloggers' posts who are also a part of the blog hop.

Blog hops are a cool way to create a sense of community and also to get more comments.

Have fun with it!
